Why does the receptionist need to ask why I want an appointment?
The GPs have asked the receptionists to get as much information as they can so that they can direct you to the correct health care professional/service. It is not always necessary to see your GP first and the receptionist may be able to navigate you to the correct person to help with your problem. This is called Care Navigation and aims to reduce the time taken to deal with your problem by cutting out the middle person. Please help us to help you.
